14 week Group training program
Starting Jan 12th 2026
Western Sydney May 3rd
About the program
Hurt Locker Tri is excited to kick off the year with another development program targeted at those looking to do a 70.3 with an option to extend out to a full distance Ironman (22 weeks for Cairns). The program is aligned with Western Sydney 70.3 however will still be appropriate for those doing Big Husky (Standard or 70.3) a few weeks beforehand.
Over the course of the programme, we’ll host three to four face-to-face sessions per week, located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs or down south for longer rides through the Royal National Park and beyond. Our focus is on creating a supportive, fun, and friendly environment where we can all push each other to get the best out of our bodies—while experiencing the camaraderie that comes from sharing the same goal. You’ll be surrounded by like-minded people and a coach who genuinely cares and absolutely loves what she does. I’m incredibly passionate about helping drive your development and showing you that you can achieve hard things—with the right support and guidance.
Western Sydney 70.3 is a fantastic first race if you’re new to the distance, or a great option if you’re chasing a PB. Best of all, it’s close enough for your friends and family to come cheer you on!
If you’ve been following us on Instagram, you’ll have seen the incredible time our previous development programme had—and I can’t wait to recreate that magic in 2026
Requirements of registration
You must be about to
1. Swim 1000m without stopping
2. Bike 50km and have a road bike or time trial bike
3. Run 10km without stopping
If you have not ridden in a group before that is OK! I will run a few extra sessions to help you learn outside of the regular sessions. Safety is number 1 and I will make sure whilst out training we do everything in our control to make the safest environment possible.

faq
I am nervous to join as I don't know anyone, do people join individually?
Joining alone is more common than not! it won't be long before you all know each other and start forming bonds. The HLT community is built around a welcoming, supportive environment and you will make friends in no time. Occasionally friends join together which is also very welcomed. Being nervous is normal, but don't worry... All your stresses will soon go away.
This program is open to men, women and non-binary athletes.
I want to train but not necessarily race, can I still join?
Yes, absolutely. If you just want to join the community and train but not race at all that is okay. If you are undecided on races when signing up to the training program we can have a chat to see what may suit you in the future if you do decide to race.
I want to do the Standard distance at Husky, will the program be suitable?
Big Husky in March (28th-29th) is always a great event. There will still be a few weeks of the training program after Big Husky however if you want to do Big Husky there will be an option to train for the Standard distance alongside those training for the 70.3 or Ironman. The price will remain at $250
What days will the group sessions be on?
On the back of feedback from previous programs the group training days will be put into your Training Peaks upon sign up so you can plan around them. They will be variable however as a rule of thumb there will be an interval session on Tuesday/Thursday (some AM, some PM), a Friday morning ocean swim and a Saturday ride/brick. Most weeks there will be 4 F2F session options.

What happens if I can't do all set sessions?
If you miss a session that is okay, sometimes life gets in the way however to get the most out of the program consistency is key and building up is progressive, so it is important that you try and remain as consistent as possible. You won't be able to jump from week 3 to week 6... the progressive nature of endurance training means your body is loaded bit by bit. Your sessions are in Training Peaks for the non-group one's for you to do at any time. The face-to-face sessions are given at the actual session however can be provided after the session if you are unable to make it
