My coaching style is very hands on and I believe that open communication between coach and athlete is critical to success.


Since coming on board as a coach with Hurt Locker 18 months ago I have successfully worked with over 40 athletes to achieve their individual goals. These have ranged from beginners completing their first triathlon, to Ironman would championship qualification, and everything in between.


My love of coaching comes from seeing an athlete grow in physical and mentally ability, with the same passion for the first timer looking to do a sprint distance up to a seasoned performance athlete looking to podium in races. I am passionate about creating an environment of supportive and enthusiastic athletes who are part of the HLT family. Each athlete I coach receives a personalised plan targeted at their own strengths, weaknesses and schedules. I am a big advocate for building connections with other athletes through training by combining individual programs with group sessions.


Personally, I came from a running background with no concept of what a triathlon was or how to ride a bike. Over the past 9 years I have gone from triathlon first timer (where my dad had to ride next to me on the bike) to Ironman World Championship qualifier in 2021. My journey has included the following:

  • 5 x Ironman finisher 

  • 1 x Ironman World Championship qualifier (Kona 2021)

  • 10+ x Ironman 70.3 finisher 

  • 2 x Ironman 70.3 World Championship qualifier (Chattanooga 2017, Taupo 2024)

  • NSW long course triathlon champion 2020

  • UTA 100 Silver Buckle recipient 2023


I love seeing athletes achieve what they thought was beyond the realms of possibility and I am passionate about helping bring those dreams to life, regardless of where they are starting from.

About Hurt Locker Tri

Hurt Locker Tri specialises in personalised online programming for triathlon distances from Olympic up to Ironman. 

A  group of athletes live around the eastern suburbs of Sydney and there are regular group sessions organised to bring everyone together. These include Tuesday morning runs, Thursday morning cycles and Saturday long rides. Group sessions are entirely optional and the programs are written specifically for your individual schedule. There are also many athletes which are coached virtually as they are spread all across the country or group sessions do not fit in with their family and work schedules.

I only take on a limited number of athletes so that the personalised service remains at the forefront of my coaching. I am passionate about bringing out the best in the athletes I coach and there is a level of commitment that I expect from them in order to achieve this. Working closely with those that I coach we have achieved some incredible results with smart training methods, understanding what works for each individual body and keeping open and honest lines of communication. 

My coaching philosophy centres around Training Peaks data, metrics and the relationship with the individual athlete. Where some of my athletes thrive off high volume, high intensity and minimal recovery there are others who need 8 hours of sleep a night and rest is paramount to their success. 

I am invested in my athletes success and want to see everyone I coach reach the limits of what is possible.
